Nov. 26, 2025 Wednesday
Our flight left St. George at 5:30 pm.
We arrived in Denver heading to Munich Germany.

Nov. 26, 2025 Thursday
Happy Thanksgiving
We landed in Munich about 2:30 pm it was a great flight. Flying business class when you’re flying for 10 hours helps. Plus’s when you’re not so young anymore!
😊

We picked up our rental car and headed to the hotel. It was only 5pm but we took a short nap then grabbed something light to eat at the hotel. Tomorrow we will spend the day at the spa in Erding.

Nov. 28th 2025 Friday
We decided to drive to Mainz today and knock it off our list for tomorrow. Which took us two hours and I am wondering what the heck I put into my GPS. We ended up in a wide open area surrounded by mountains. It was beautiful but it sure wasn’t Mainz. Too funny.

Nov. 29, 2025 Saturday
We drove to Stuttgart Germany. Checked into our hotel ate some lunch. Later we went to the Christmas Market in Stuttgart. It was packed! Wow way too many people. We ate at the market and looked around for a bit but it was too crowded so we left.

Nov. 30, 2025 Sunday
Drove from Stuttgart to Bamburg Germany. It was raining a bit here and there but this city is so beautiful at Christmas. I’d come back here for sure. We walked around most of the rest of the day. And ate dinner there. We headed to Wurzburg Germany where we’ll be tonight then explore the city tomorrow. We’ve been here before and really liked it. Tomorrow we head to Regensburg Germany and we’ll be there for three days. We’ve been there before but not at Christmas.

Dec. 1, 2025 Monday
Spent the day in Wurzburg Germany. Walked around went to the Marienberg Fortress on the hill then over to the old main bridge. Wurzburg reminds me alot of Prague but alot smaller. It’s really pretty. We stopped and got hot chocolate and some pastries. We walked to Markt Platz. The church was so pretty and they had a good sized Christmas Market. Walked to a few other churches and the Würzburg Residence. Then stopped and grabbed some lunch and headed to Regensburg, Germany for three days.

Dec. 2, 2025 Tuesday

Dec. 3, 2025 Wednesday
We headed to Salzburg this morning. We stopped for lunch. We checked into our hotel and got an Uber over to Mirabellplatz and the main large Christmas market
We ate dinner at the hotel. We were so tired.

Dec. 4, 2025 Thursday
We slept in since we had another day in Salzburg. We’ve been here so many times in the spring and at Christmas! It’s so very beautiful! I guess that’s why we keep coming back. We walked around Salzburg most of the day. Ate an early meal at “Camino.” It was pretty good. We were going to go to K&K ( we ate there before and it was really good) but it was being remolded. We saw a few of the “Krumpus” wondering around but I wasn’t close enough to get a picture! We caught an Uber back to the hotel. Tomorrow we head to the town of Kufstein on the way to Munich. We’ve never been there but I guess it is like Salzburg so we will check it out.

Dec. 5, 2025 Friday
We drove to Kufstein and walked around the city for awhile. We happened to run into the “ Krampus” so we watched them for a bit.

We drove to Munich. We walked around Marientplaz for a bit but it was so crowded (it was a Friday night) we ate dinner at
“Zum Dürnbräu” our favorite place whenever we are in Munich. They have good food and the atmosphere is so cozy and warm. We headed to our hotel.
Krampus is a horned, half-goat, half-demon creature from Alpine folklore who punishes misbehaving children at Christmastime, acting as a dark counterpart to the benevolent St. Nicholas, swatting them with branches or, in folklore, taking them to hell. Originating from pre-Christian pagan traditions, his name comes from the German word for "claw," and modern celebrations include rowdy parades called Krampuslauf where costumed figures run through towns.
Heading to Munich
Dec. 6, 2025 Saturday
We drove to Oberammergau. It’s such a pretty town with beautiful painted buildings. We ate at the same restaurant as we’ve eaten at before. Mostly to get their Apfel strudel. It’s so yummy! We also stopped at the Ettal Abby. Headed back towards Munich back to our hotel. We were tired so we ate at the hotel.

In 1633, the plague made it to Oberammergau and the village wasn’t handling it well. Many died, causing the villagers to turn to God Himself to help. If the Lord spared the town, stopping the deaths, the townspeople would perform a passion play once every 10 years to express their gratitude.

According to legend shortly after making their plea, deaths in Oberammergau began to come to an end.
The passion play is still performed to this day every 10 years!
Dec. 7, 2025 Sunday
We were lazy today and hung out at our hotel. We ate breakfast then headed into Munich for the day. We ate dinner at the Ratskeller in Marienplatz.

Dec.8, 2025 Monday
We spent the day at the Therme Erding spa. A great way as usual to end our trip. We fly home tomorrow!!
